ON TEMPORARY HIATUS

I'm Mei Chang of the Chang clan and the seventeenth princess of the emperor of Xing. It is my goal to find the secret of immortality to raise my clan's status in the eyes of the emperor. No other clan will hold me and Xiao Mei back!

[[Magic Anon status: None]]

(Independent FMAB RP blog. I RP Mei as herself (primarily pre-Promised Day or when she first entered the series), as older Aunt Mei for yinofsin, and Mei as perceived in other RPer's headcanons. Or at least I'm willing to be~)

Feel free to ask Mei, give her M!As, anything! But no smut, please.

“Mei. Listen to me.”

“…”

“Please, Mei? For Mama?”

Her mother had knelt down and looked at her pleadingly in the eyes. Mei pouted, crossing her arms and turning away.

“Please? Mama will be so happy if you could go with your new big brother—”

“He’s NOT my brother!” Mei snapped. “He’s NOT my family! And his stupid daddy isn’t my family either!”

“Mei, don’t you dare speak of your step father that way!” Mama snapped back, clutching her daughter’s shoulders and giving them a little shake. But at Mei’s frightened expression, Mama sighed and hugged her tightly.

“Mama’s sorry, baby,” she said quietly. “I know you don’t like them, but it’s the only way we can help each other. You’ll understand when you get older.” Mei buried her face into the crook of her mother’s neck, and for a few moments, they stayed like that intertwined. Soon, however, there was a knock on the front door.

“Oh, Ling is here,” Mama said. She looked down at Mei, all dolled up in a pale pink kimono, purple sash, and traditional wooden sandals. Her long hair was tied in its usual bun-and-braid style, and decorated with tiny flowers. Mama sighed.

“Please, Mei? For Mama?”

Mei made a face. “Fine…”

With an exhausted smile, her mother went to open the door.

Ling leaned against the wall, hearing the younger sister wails and complains. He sighed, tilting his head up to gaze at the decorated ceiling. How long has it been since the Yao clan emerged with the Chang? If it wasn’t for his father’s greed for growing of the clans, he wouldn’t be in this mess.

He cursed to himself softly, tilting his head down and over to the door he could peek at the mother comforting her daughter. She was hardly up to his chest, just a child. Ling frowned, remembering what it was like dealing with family problems. He too was an only child and felt uncomfortable at first at the thought of his Dad remarrying another woman— but he later dismisses his remorse when he found out she has a daughter around his age.

“My lord…?”

He looked over at his two loyal guards waiting patiently by his side. He smiled over to them, the corners of his lips reached ear to ear. The guards stayed silent, as if they understood what he meant through that action.

Ling came from a rich family— the Yao Clan being the twelfth most powerful out of the fifty clans in the country. He is their sole heir, having to cherish his name in pride and dignity.

—” not my brother! He’s NOT my family!”

He shivered at the shout, looking back down to the floor. The younger guard stood up from her kneeling position to head to the room but the elder one held his arm to stop her. Ling could only shake his head, smiling half heartedly.

“It’ll take time Lan Fan,” He said trying to sound cheerful, he got up from his leaning position and walked to the door. He took a deep breath, muttering a small prayer of good luck. He hoped that the festival might change her views— it’s the best event of the year. His greatest chance to be her ideal brother.

He knocked on it, softly. He glanced back at the servants as they bowed. The boy smiled at them cheerfully, mouthing at them “Wish me luck!”

Mama smiled brightly as she opened the door. “Hello, Ling dear,” she said. “Please, come on in.”

She left the door open for his guards as well, unsure whether they would enter the house with him or stay outside.

Mei glared at the older boy as he walked inside the house. Shuffling back a few steps in her kimono and sandals, she turned her head away from him.

Mama raised an eyebrow and cleared her throat. “Mei, honey, why don’t you say hello to your brother?” Her voice was slightly forced, obviously forbidding Mei from disobeying.

Mei grumbled under her breath before muttering, “It’s n-nice to meet you…”

"Mei. Listen to me."

"…"
